Guru Purnima @ Vyasa Purnima – 2025
On this year 2025, Guru Purnima happens on 10th July 2025 where Moon is aspected by Raja Grahas Sun and Jupiter and hence this year this Guru Purnima is called as Maha Guru Purnima as Jupiter transits in Gemini only once in 12 years.
Guru Purnima (Asadha Purnima, Vyasa Purnima) is a festival where many Hindus and Buddhists pay respect to their Guru or spiritual guide. It is observed on the full moon day, Purnima, in the Hindu month of Ashadh or Ashaada or when Sun Transits in Gemini / Mithun and Moon is 180 Degree opposite to Sun, i.e. in Sagittarius or Dhanush.
The speciality of this Maha Guru Purnima falls with Adhi Yoga, which is a powerful combination in Vedic Astrology and formed when the Benefic Planets (Mercury, Jupiter and Venus) and positioned in the 6th, 7th or 8th Houses from the position of Moon. On 10th July 2025, Venus would be in 6th House (Taurus), Jupiter would be in 7th house (Gemini) and Mercury would be in 8th house (Cancer).
This Adhi Yoga (Chandradhi Yoga) is considered highly beneficial, potentially bringing wealth, prosperity, leadership qualities, high social status and victory over enemies.
On this auspicious day, perform your regular duties without fail and seek the blessings
of your parents / elders at home.
Also seek the blessings of your Guru who is a spiritual guide and Mentor who helps you
on your path to self-discovery and liberation, often emphasizing innter transformation
and wisdom.
