Yogas
refer to the longitudinal difference from Sun and the Moon.
Formula
:-
Add the longitudes of Sun and Moon and
subtract with 360 degree from the sum, if it is greater than 360 degrees. Divide the sum by 13.20’ (Length of the natchatra)
or by 800’. (13.20 multiplied by 60 =
13x60 is 780. Adding 20 mins to 780, then total minutes is 800’). Ignore fractions and take the Integer part. Add 1 to it and the result is the Index of
Yoga running. Refer table below.
