This is also called “Godana”. This Samskara is performed at the age of 16 years and is indicative of entry into adulthood. After shaving, the hair is disposed off in the same manner in which it is done at the time of Chudakaranam or Choulam. On this occasion a cow is donated to the Guru. This Samskara can be performed in the same nakshatras, tithes, days and lagans as are mentioned in Choulam Samskara.
